Is Smoking allowed at Hedo III??

thanks to everyone who posted replies to our earlier post - all of it was super helpful and we enjoyed reading it all!

We had a question about smoking and do they have a no smoking policy and is it enforced and do people also do other kinds of drugs down there?

We are NOT smokers and respect smokers so wanted to get some input.

    any info is greatly appreciated.

Somewhere on here someone said that there is no smoking in any of the restaurants, the piano bar, or the disco now. I do not know when this took place or if it is enforced. The only place you could not smoke the last time that we were there were Pastafari and Munasan Restaurants.
i have recently stopped smoking--but all bets are off when I get there and drink that much! LOL !!

Oh and yes there is other "smoke" there. You smell it more than see it---well from my experience anyway!

we were there justa month ago. No smoking in pastafari and munsan but we saw people smoke everywhere else like buffet restaurant, piano bar and the disco. We don't smoke cigarettes but what the heck. It's a party.

Being a reformed smoker, I have found that my tolerance for the smell of cigarettes is far less than when I smoked myself. I now understand nonsmokers desire for clean air. I have to say, I am not opposed to making areas without ventilation nonsmoking areas.

I will mail my resort contact for clarification if they have a new policy in affect.

The no smoking policy is in effect as of two weeks ago. Signs are now prominently posted at the entrances to all of the restaurants. It is being enforeced.

    Per my Hedo contact....

Yes we have restricted the smoking areas around the resort. Guests are no longer allowed to smoke in the Piano bar, Disco and all restaurants.

I didn't even notice the smoking ban but now that I look back I did enjoy not smelling it. BUT one day in the pool there was a guy that thought his crap didn't stink and smoked a cigar the whole time he was there. We ended up moving to the quad pool for a day.

not to be a sore person about the smoking ban, but the smoking ban should include ALL types of smoking. I love to smell the good stuff, but some people get sick from it or can not be near it.

I find the tone of this thread interesting and a little bit reaffirming about how wonderful almost all hedo folk are. We have in this post smokers and non smokers getting along. Smokers acknowledging that their habit may disturb other people, and those non smokers being pleasant and polite about their objection. God I love Hedo people.
    Cheers.

I would have to agree with you here.. A smoking ban should be just that.. A BAN.. Fair is fair.. BUT who is really going to enforce it? I kind of doubt none of the security guards will prohibit someone from supporting the local economy.

I would think that the smoking ban in the areas mentioned would apply to all items smokable...though we did observe the smoking of ganja in the buffet at Hedo 2 once, I think thats the exception and not the rule.

Well being a smoker I always hate to see more and more smoking bans. However, Before I ever lit up I always checked the wind direction/people around me and move to an area that my 2nd hand smoke would not be inhaled by a non-smoker. At least before it had some time to disapate. I always felt it was my responsablitly as a smoker not to infringe on the rights of the people who choose not to. I don't have a problem with the restuaunts being non-smoking as no one like to have the flavor of thier food tainted by the smell of smoke. Just please leave me a small area on the nude beach where I can relax sun and if I choose have a smoke and I will be happy. Don't worry though, I won't leave my butts laying in the sand. Trash is trash and I would not mess up such a beautiful island
